PROJECTS

PROJECT 1

Concept's of Form

Project 1 revolves around understanding and designing shapes by their forms. The assignment consisted of organizing sugar cubes into various structures and shapes, solid or hollow. These shapes would also be interacting one another through different forms of interaction. These interactions were through concepts such face-to-face, edge to edge, and interlocking points.

PROJECT 2

Concept's of Space and Volume

Project 2 involves the relationship of spaces between objects and the volumes between or inside them. This project involved using Dowel's of various lengths and sizes to represents the outlines of shape's and their borders. We would have these shapes interact one another through space adjacent to a space, space interlocking a space, and space within a space.

PROJECT 3

Concept of Enclosure

Project 3 involves the method of utilizing planes on horizontal and vertical perspectives. In this assignment, we were required to use Black and white strips of different lengths to create different planes. These planes were L-shaped, U-shaped, and single planes. These planes would be utilized to create spaces defined by said strips through different color patterns as well physical designs.

PROJECT 4

Concept of Circulation

Project 4 involves the method and design of circulation in a site or area. In this project we were required to use Revit to design a property for a Yacht club by the shores of Long Island. When designing the site, we had to utilize circulatory concepts that involved approach, entrance, circulation, path to space relationships, and space to space. We also had to design the building around more simplistic plane layouts while using concepts of forms in the circulation of structures such as enclosure, close on one side, or open on both sides.

PROJECT 5

Ordering Principle

Project 5 focuses on the ordering principle that involves the organization of entities on a site. In this project we create concepts and design for a property that should contain a home, studio and garage. The project revolved around an artist wanting a property for their family, the narrative was that the artist wished for a private retreat where the family requested a large amount of privacy from the public. So with this information, the project would utilize designs and concepts of Hierarchy on the Micro and Macro scale, Datum, and Axis.
