PROJECT 02
Contextual Fit
The Smith family has commissioned us to renovate their home via adding a new additional section that is added to the pre-existing design. This new section of the house will be outfitted with new rooms that will accommodate the family when they've moved in. So as the goal implies, this project involves focusing on adding new assets to a pre-existing project while maintaining and respecting the original aesthetics, design's, and structure of the original.
NARRATIVE
The Smith House is a three-story family home that is being expanded upon by its new owners. The new owner, or commissioner, is moving in with his family of 4 who wish to expand the home for themselves as the first order of business of moving in. The owner is also a sculptor who works on modeling and crafting projects, which he wishes to include a workspace in his new home. These new rooms also include a new master bedroom with a bathroom for both partners to use in privacy, a family room to create a new area to reside that grants an open view for the outside world, but at the very least give some enclosure for the anyone inside, and an exercise area, or gym, for physical activities and health. These are to be constructed via an extension from the pre-existing building, while still following the same style and manner of the base home as well.
